Blackpool have announced they have signed striker Michael Chopra from Championship rivals Ipswich Town on a one-year deal with the option of a further year.
Chopra, 29, has spent the last two years at Portman Road after arriving from Cardiff City in 2011 for a £1 million fee.
The former Newcastle and Sunderland striker scored 28 goals in 73 appearances during a third spell at the South Wales club and managed 18 strikes in 78 games at the Tractor Boys.
A statement released on the club’s official website read, “No stranger to scoring goals against The Seasiders, Chopra started his career with Sunday’s pre-season opponents Newcastle United and had numerous spells with Cardiff City prior to joining The Tractor Boys.
“Chopra has scored 105 goals in his professional career so far, with 19 of those coming during his time at Portman Road.”
